About Li Galli Island:
This Island has a rich and fascinating history dating back to ancient times.
According to mythology, Li Galli Island was home to sirens who attempted to lure Odysseus with their enchanted songs, as described in Homer’s epic poem, the Odyssey.
Throughout history, Li Galli Island has been owned by various individuals and families.
In the 19th century, the island was bought by the German painter Otto Geleng, who built a villa there and invited various artists and intellectuals to stay with him, including the writer Norman Douglas and the composer Richard Wagner.
In 1988, Li Galli Island became the property of the Russian dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who built a splendid villa on it.
Nureyev spent many summers on the island, throwing lavish parties and entertaining guests from all over the world.
Today the Li Galli Island is privately owned, but can be admired through a boat tour starting from Positano or from other neighboring towns on the Amalfi Coast.
Thanks to its beauty and history, the island continues to attract visitors and inspire legends and myths.
